It was reported just last week, confirmation that the emerald ash borer continues its march this direction, and rather rapidly too. In a news release, the ag department said that the spread from Michigan to 29 other states has primarily been though movement of firewood cut from infested trees…..
He said it might be wise also to not transport firewood across the state as that can cause the spread of a pest to happen much more quickly….
The ash borer has not yet been found in South Dakota, but it’s arrival is expected eventually.
