SPEARFISH, S.D. – A female pedestrian has died from injuries she sustained when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Spearfish.
Names of the deceased and the driver have not yet been released pending notification of family.
A 2015 Kia Optima was traveling west on Rushmore Street near the intersection with Ryan Street in Spearfish. The Kia struck a pedestrian who was crossing Rushmore Street. The pedestrian later died in an area hospital.
Charges are not pending against the driver.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Spearfish Police Department and Spearfish Ambulance.
