Fair Deal Pawn and Pawn With Us have been charged with misdemeanor counts of violating the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.   They are among 16 newly indicted defendants in a 19-month undercover investigation dubbed ‘Project Dakota Flyer’.

United States Attorney Randolph J. Seiler says in this round of incitements they focused on individuals and established businesses…

Both Rapid City area pawn shops are facing misdemeanor charges that carry a maximum of 1-year confinement and/or a 100-thousand dollar fine.  The investigation into the illegal trafficking of eagles and other migratory birds netted a total of 240 eagles and 150 hawks and owls.

Seiler said initial court appearances have been set for Wednesday October 11, 2017 in Rapid City.                                                                    The case was investigated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
