City Council members approved Human Services Subsidy Funds 2018 Allocations, for a total of 50-thousand dollars.   The recommendations didn’t include 5-thousand dollars for the Front Porch Coalition.

Alderman John Roberts said  Monday night  that the organization helped his family in a time of tragedy….

When he ran for Council, he had said that he didn’t support funding for the Front Porch Coalition. He spoke with KOTA Radio this morning, and talked about how his own tragedy impacted his decision to support the funding request…..

Roberts said when funding was cut last year, the general thinking was that the 211 line would take up suicide awareness and offer an outlet for people needing help…

The Investment Committee has made Recommendations for funding allocations that meet the highest priority needs as identified by the City Consolidated Plan and Collective Impact recommended projects.
