DROUGHT CONDITIONS NOT EASED

The recent snowstorms improved drought conditions for the region, with the exception of West River. Hydrologist Melissa Smith at the National Weather Service office in Rapid City said it has been a very wet winter for Montana and parts of North Dakota, so there is an elevated flood risk in those states this week with the warm weather.  Smith said dry conditions persist in western South Dakota and the flood risk is below average…..

She said the stock ponds are dry…
