Business leaders and technical staff from around the area are invited to the 2023 Technology (TECH) Leadership Conference. It will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. MDT on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at The BOX in Box Elder.

 

Golden West Technologies is collaborating with SDN Communications, Omnitech, Inc., and Elevate Rapid City to launch the new TECH Leadership Conference this fall. The conference will cover the latest cybersecurity trends and strategies.

 

“It’s crucial for business leaders and their teams not just to keep up – but to get ahead in today’s increasingly digital world,” says Golden West Chief Technology Officer Nick Rogness. “The conference offers attendees an opportunity to gain insights into emerging threats and innovative solutions to help safeguard their organization’s data, reputation, and bottom line while also fostering strategic technological advancements.”

 

Katie Shuck, a cyber intelligence analyst with South Dakota Fusion Center, will kick off the event as the opening speaker. She will share “Lessons we (should) have learned about cybersecurity.” After lunch Matt Scully with Kaseya will present “A futuristic look at cyber threats and protection.”

 

In between participants can choose from four breakout sessions. Speakers and topics include:

· Nick Podhradsky with SBS CyberSecurity and Travis Kroger with Boen & Associates will present “Mastering tabletop exercises: Unveiling best practices and impacts.”

· Katelyn Flowers-Valasquez with Black Hills Energy and Eric Eisenbraun with Golden West Technologies will review “The cyber investment.”

· Jody Gillespie with the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office will share “How South Dakota Consumer Protection tackles cyber challenges.”

· Juan Harrington with Omnitech, Inc. will present “Building a strong data foundation for A.I.”

 

The TECH Leadership Conference is an in-person event with a virtual attendance option available. Check in begins at 7:30 a.m., Shuck will speak at 8:30 a.m., and the event will end at 1:30 p.m. A light breakfast and lunch will be served, and advanced registration is requested to ensure availability.
