At 6:44 am The Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 8000 block of Cobblestone Ct, Rapid Valley, unincorporated, Pennington County, South Dakota.
First arriving firefighters found moderate to heavy smoke coming from the home with fire spreading to adjacent residential structures and detached garages.
Firefighters, facing freezing temperatures, narrow winding snow and ice packed gravel roads, successfully contained the fire to the home.
They prevented the spread of the flames to nearby residences.
There were no injuries
