Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on April 11th, police were dispatched to the intersection of Holiday Lane and Sheridan Lake Road for a single vehicle rollover crash. While en-route, police were advised that several bystanders were working on extinguishing flames coming from the vehicle. On arrival, first responders located a single occupant inside the vehicle and began working to extricate the driver. Emergency lifesaving efforts were performed, however, the driver was declared deceased on scene. After speaking to witnesses, police learned the passenger vehicle was travelling southbound along Sheridan Lake Road at a high rate of speed, swerving in and out of traffic, when it failed to negotiate a curve and left the east side of the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle struck a light pole, a stop sign, crossed Holiday Lane, entered the landscaping at 3808 Sheridan Lake Road, and came to rest on its roof. The driver is identified as 30-year-old Vincent Bochmann of Smithwick, and the RCPD’s Critical Accident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
