At around 5:00 p.m. on September 16th, police were dispatched to the 100 block of E. Watertown Street for a report of an individual who had just been shot. On arrival, police learned of an altercation among several individuals which resulted in a male being shot. The male was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
At this time, police are working to develop information about the suspect and their whereabouts. Based on witness statements, this shooting does not appear to be random in nature and there is no reason to believe any ongoing threat to public safety exists as a result of this incident.
