MAYOR, COUNCIL MEMBERS PLAN TO ATTEND, PARTICIPATE IN STOCK SHOW EVENTS

Rapid City Mayor Jason Salamun and members of the Rapid City Common Council will be attending numerous events at the annual Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo.  The event is scheduled from this Thursday through Sunday, February 8.

The Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo is South Dakota’s second-largest event, surpassed only by the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.  This year marks the 66th annual stock show and rodeo event in Rapid City and attracts over 330,000 attendees from across the nation.  The event includes more than 120 livestock, horse and rodeo events and more than 300 vendors.

Here is a schedule of events for Mayor Salamun and Council members.  The schedule is subject to change.

 

THURSDAY, JANUARY 30:

3 p.m.:                     Mayor Jason Salamun will share a proclamation (see attached) and City Council members Pat Roseland, Greg Strommen and Lance Lehmann will attend the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo Kickoff and Ribbon Cutting, Barnett Fieldhouse, The Monument

3:30 p.m.:                Mayor Jason Salamun and City Council Vice President Pat Roseland will participate in the Celebrity Showmanship Competition, Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, Barnett Fieldhouse, The Monument.  Celebrity participants will select animals from the Stock Show’s animal nursery and will guide them before judges and spectators in the show ring.

 

FRIDAY, JANUARY 31:

4 p.m.:                      Mayor Jason Salamun will provide remarks and City Council member Kevin Maher will attend the Party in the Dirt social event, hosted by Rodeo Rapid City, Summit Arena, The Monument

7 p.m.:                      Rodeo Rapid City Xtreme Bulls 2025, Summit Arena, The Monument

7 p.m.:                      Mayor Jason Salamun will attend the News Center 1 and Ag Week Chute 10 Rodeo Night event, Summit Arena, The Monument

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1:

2 p.m.:            Mayor Jason Salamun and Council member Lindsey Seachris will volunteer at Monument Health’s Special Rodeo for individuals of all ages with disabilities, Summit Arena, The Monument.
