Fort Pierre Water

  Rural water is to start flowing in Fort
Pierre on Monday.

Voters last November approved buying water from the West
River-Lyman Jones Rural Water System. The City Council had approved
the agreement last summer but it was referred to a public vote.
Officials the past three months have been getting the proper
permits.

Supporters say the switch from well water will improve water
quality. Opponents don't want higher water rates.
