Commissioners Exercise Their Rights

Meade County commissioners have been asking to have a seat at the table with the Ellsworth Air Force Base administrators concerning the expansion of the training complex in the Powder River Basin, and they are now a step closer to getting that, but not by invitation from the Base.

Commissioners are exercising their rights according to the National Environmental Policy Act, which requires federal agencies to coordinate with county resource management plans.

Rancher Robert Heidgerken says residents of the county support the commissions desire to be a part of the process…
