Interim BHP&L Increase Approved

An increase in you bill is coming fast, as the state PUC approved Black Hills Power's request for an interim 20-percent increase in electric rates starting April 1st, according to a news release from Plains Justice.

The electric utility had asked the PUC for a permanent rate increase of 26-point-6 percent last September, which many customers oppose.
A hearing on that issue was pushed back from February to late June.

If the PUC grants a lower increase at the final hearing, it can require the utility to refund the difference to its customers with interest.
