Woman Extricated From Vehicle Following Morning Accident

An 8 o'clock accident on busy 5th Street Wednesday tied up morning traffic for over an hour.

Police say the accident occurred the intersection of Fifth Street and Indiana Street. A 2006 Honda Odyssey driven by Susan Raposa, 39, of Rapid City, was eastbound on Indiana Street and failed to stop for the stop sign at Fifth Street. Raposa’s vehicle was struck by a 1994 International truck, driven by Scott Hendricks, 48, of Rapid City, who was headed southbound on Fifth Street.

Raposa required extrication to be removed from her vehicle. She was transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.　

Susan Raposa was issued a citation for a stop sign violation. Scott Hendricks was issued a citation for being off the truck route.
