Prison Bill
Created: 3/17/2010 7:55:28 AM
The governor has signed a bill to spend $3.8
million in state and federal funds for a minimum security prison in
Rapid City.
The money would be used to renovate a building on a site the
Corrections Department purchased a year ago.
Officials say the new prison for up to 400 inmates would put the
prisoners near their families and help them find work-release jobs
to prepare for their eventual release.
