Maybe Bio-Diesel Is The Answer

While there’s a lot of talk about gasoline, natural gas, coal, and nuclear energy to fuel our nation’s energy needs, there’s been little talk about bio-diesel. But the Homegrown Prosperity Renewable Energy Bus Tour wants to change that and they’re doing it in a converted school bus powered entirely by bio-diesel. The bus kicked off a 7-state campaign last week and are in South Dakota this weekend.

Dakota Rural Action based in Brookings is sponsoring the bus for South Dakota and spokesperson Sylvia Christen said that DRA has always been a big supporter of renewables….

She said South Dakota has great crop resources to produce ethanol and bio-diesel to support the local economy. Besides using biodiesel instead of petrol diesel, the bus is equipped with solar panels to power a laptop computer and a TV, and there is a solar oven and other displays…
