City Council election results certified

In a brief Tuesday meeting, the Rapid City Council certified the June 3 municipal election results, confirming the unofficial totals. Present were council members Pat Roseland, Kevin Maher, John Roberts, Lindsey Seachris, and Lance Lehmann, with Roseland and Lehmann abstaining from certifying their own Ward 5 and Ward 4 races, per custom. Lehmann won reelection in Ward 4, defeating Eltina Three Stars 324-184. Stephen Tamang won the open Ward 1 seat with 1,028 votes over Lawrence Adams’ 430, and Callie Meyer defeated Roseland in Ward 5, 608-506. Uncontested races for Bill Evans (Ward 2) and Greg Strommen (Ward 3) were also certified, despite no ballots being cast. New and returning council members will be sworn in on July 7.
