The South Dakota Gaming Commission issued penalties to a Deadwood casino and related parties for regulatory violations. Aces Full Inc., operating as Mr. Wu’s, was fined $5,000 for accepting bets from an individual on its voluntary no-betting list, established under a 2022 rule. The casino refunded the person $3,450 in losses. Employee Brinton Hamm was fined $250 and suspended from gaming duties for two days.
The commission, meeting in Deadwood, also fined Internet Sports International, a Las Vegas-based sports betting provider, $11,500 for not conducting required 2024 integrity and risk assessments. The company completed testing in 2025 and is now compliant, per Gaming Secretary Mark Heltzel.
Additionally, Clark & Apex, LLC, was fined $750 for having unlicensed employees on duty at its 614 Main Street, Deadwood, location on January 1, 2025, due to expired licenses.
In other business, the commission approved arrangements for the Verendrye (pronounced vuh-REN-dree) Benevolent Association to hold horse races on October 4 at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre.
