The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Attorney General Alliance to strengthen the fight against internet crimes targeting children.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says the funding will help bolster the DCI’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force by providing new equipment and advanced training. The task force, made up of 14 law enforcement agencies across the state and tribal areas, is dedicated to investigating online child exploitation.
In 2024 alone, the task force handled approximately 900 cases involving offenses such as child pornography, online enticement, and other digital exploitation. Jackley emphasized that the grant will directly support efforts to identify, disrupt, and prosecute online predators and human traffickers.
