Three Rapid City residents sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash east of Spearfish.
According to preliminary information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Interstate 90 near mile marker 14 when the front tire of a 2002 Ford F-150 failed. The 30-year-old male driver lost control, struck a cable guardrail, and the vehicle went airborne before rolling.
One passenger, an 18-year-old female, was ejected from the truck. The driver and another passenger, a 17-year-old female, managed to exit the vehicle before it caught fire. All three were transported to a Spearfish hospital for treatment.
The Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash.
