The South Dakota Department of Corrections (DOC) has issued a public warning regarding the release of 30-year-old inmate Glenn Waege, who is classified as a high risk to reoffend. Waege is set to be released Friday after completing his full sentence for solicitation of a minor in Clark County and failure to register as a sex offender in Codington County.
Because Waege has served his entire sentence, he will not be under parole supervision. He is being released to Montana, and the DOC has provided identifying details to assist law enforcement and the public: Waege is white, 6’3″, approximately 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Secretary of Corrections Kellie Wasko stated that such notifications are issued when institutional assessments and criminal history indicate a high likelihood of reoffending. Since 2011, the DOC has released 18 public notices for high-risk offenders, with Waege’s case marking the third such release in 2025.
