The Unified Narcotic Enforcement Team (UNET) arrested two Rapid City residents, Terrell Wilkins, 41, and Leannah Vitalis, 27, last Wednesday, following an investigation into drug trafficking from Colorado into Western South Dakota.
A South Dakota Highway Patrol traffic stop in Pennington County led to the seizure of nearly 127 grams of cocaine, 100 fentanyl-laced counterfeit oxycodone pills, 6.6 grams of MDMA, hashish, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Both individuals face multiple felony charges, including distribution and possession of Schedule I and II controlled substances. Vitalis faces an additional felony charge for possessing oxycodone.
UNET, a multi-agency task force led by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, works closely with state, local, and federal law enforcement partners. Wilkins and Vitalis are being held at the Pennington County Jail. They are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
