The South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Sturgis Police Department released their final reports Sunday, marking the close of law enforcement activity for the 2025 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
According to the Highway Patrol, three injury crashes occurred on Highway 14A and Highway 16 during the rally’s final stretch. None of these incidents resulted in serious injuries. Over the course of the event, the patrol recorded a total of 66 injury accidents and 27 non-injury accidents. Four fatalities were included in the final report.
DUI arrests by the Highway Patrol totaled 119 this year, a noticeable drop from the 155 recorded in 2024. Drug-related arrests also declined, with 266 misdemeanors and 104 felonies reported—both numbers down from the previous year.
Meanwhile, the Sturgis Police Department issued its final rally report Sunday as well. Officers made 58 DUI arrests, down from 66 last year. Misdemeanor drug arrests came in at 55, also lower than in 2024, while felony drug arrests rose slightly to 47.
Police noted an increase in disorderly conduct arrests, which reached 22 this year. Assault cases totaled 18, consistent with last year’s figures. Illegal parking citations were down, with 146 issued compared to 167 in 2024. Speeding citations also declined, while stop sign violations remained unchanged.
In total, Sturgis Police made 97 non-traffic arrests and 114 traffic-related arrests, both of which were lower than last year’s numbers. Officers booked 142 individuals into the Meade County Jail during the rally.
