The latest report from the US Drought Monitor shows 2 thirds of the South Dakota is drought-free. 40 percent of the area mainly in the south central and southwestern portion of the state are experiencing abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions with less than 1 percent in portions of Lyman, Brule and Buffalo counties seeing severe drought.
