South Dakota’s two busiest airports—Sioux Falls and Rapid City—are receiving a combined $760,000 to support ongoing expansion efforts. The state Aeronautics Commission approved the funds, leftover from Senate Bill 144, with Sioux Falls set to receive nearly $350,000 and Rapid City about $413,000.
Rapid City Airport officials say the funding will help advance the next phase of a multi-year terminal upgrade project, which has been in the works for nearly a decade to meet rising passenger demand.
