Starting today, Rapid City’s Utility Maintenance Division will begin water line repairs along Fifth Street, between Saint Patrick Street and Saint Francis Street. Residents in the area may experience brief water service interruptions during the project, which is expected to wrap up by mid-week.
Traffic will be impacted with northbound lanes on Fifth Street will be reduced to a single lane for roughly 400 feet between the two intersections. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and follow posted detour signs for safety.
Meanwhile, traffic restrictions near Fifth Street and Cathedral Drive will be lifted Monday, as roadwork in that area has been completed.
