Rapid City will host a key stop on the “Motorcade for Trade” harvest listening tour this Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM MT at the Central States Fairgrounds. The event, organized by Farmers for Free Trade, brings together agricultural leaders to discuss trade policy and its impact on South Dakota’s farming economy.
Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-SD), Co-Chair of the Congressional Ag Trade Caucus, will join the roundtable alongside Jerry Schmitz of the South Dakota Soybean Association, dairy farmer Michael Crinion, and moderator Brian Kuehl, Executive Director of Farmers for Free Trade.
New state-specific data will be unveiled, highlighting the role of agricultural exports, the effects of tariffs, and opportunities for expanding market access. The campaign, spanning 14 states and over 2,500 miles, aims to amplify farmer voices advocating for open markets and reduced trade barriers. It will conclude with a major event in Washington, D.C. this November.
