Around 8:40pm Tuesday evening Rapid City police responded to a report of suspected drug activity in a vehicle parked at 1225 Eglin Street. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in question and identified its occupants as Kaden Potter (20), Spencer Williamson (21), and Landon Vig (19), all residents of Rapid City.
According to the individual who reported the incident, Williamson was seen snorting an unknown substance while inside the vehicle. Officers instructed all three individuals to exit the vehicle for further investigation.
A search of Williamson revealed a loaded firearm on his person, along with two additional loaded magazines in his pockets. Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle, uncovering various items of drug paraphernalia—including a digital scale and several items concealed inside a pizza delivery bag.
Further inspection led to the discovery of multiple baggies containing a white powdery substance on each of the three individuals. Field testing confirmed the substance to be cocaine.
Potter and Williamson were arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, while Vig was taken into custody for Distribution of a Controlled Substance. All three were transported to the Pennington County Jail. Authorities noted that additional firearm-related charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
