Rapid City Fire Department Battles Smoky Shed Fire on Nowlin Street

A fire erupted in a residential shed on the 1200 Block of Nowlin Street in Rapid City at approximately 11 a.m. Thursday, sending smoke billowing through the area. The Rapid City Fire Department responded swiftly, extinguishing the blaze with no injuries reported. Firefighters were observed sifting through debris and dousing remaining flames. Captain Trapper Lappe stated that the cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation. The unattached shed, described as an unapproved residential structure, contained hoarding conditions that complicated firefighting efforts. A second shed behind the original structure sustained exterior damage. The investigation into the fire’s cause continues.
