Meals on Wheels Transition: ICAP to Provide Home-Delivered Meals Starting October 1

Starting October 1, home-delivered meals for seniors in Sturgis, Black Hawk, Box Elder, Hot Springs, Edgemont, Lemmon, and Martin will be provided by Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership (ICAP), replacing Meals on Wheels Western South Dakota (MOWWSD) as part of a state-directed transition.

ICAP will deliver frozen Meal Packs under its senior nutrition program, following a competitive selection process by the South Dakota Department of Human Services. Seniors and caregivers in affected areas must contact ICAP at 605-291-0911 or ssantema@interlakescap.com to enroll.

MOWWSD will continue offering congregate and Grab & Go meals in most of these communities, except Lemmon, and will maintain full services in 32 other locations across western South Dakota. Private pay options remain available at congregate sites.
