The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has announced $1.8 million in grant funding for two South Dakota organizations working to assist veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Cornerstone Rescue Mission in Rapid City will receive $1.42 million, while the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is set to receive $350,000. The funding will help provide critical services including housing support, health care, financial planning, childcare, legal aid, and transportation.
The grants are part of the VA’s ongoing effort to strengthen community-based support systems for vulnerable veterans across the region.
