Fire crews responded swiftly to a blaze at a single-family home on Polk Street In Summerset yesterday afternoon. The call came in around 4:25 p.m., and responders from the Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department quickly contained the flames.
Officials report the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported among firefighters, civilians, or animals.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the original structure and prevent further damage to nearby property.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
