A 58-year-old Rapid City man died Monday morning following a single-vehicle crash on Bradsky Road, approximately nine miles east of Rapid City.
The incident occurred at 9:02 a.m.. According to preliminary reports from the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the driver was traveling northbound in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway, entered a ditch, and collided with a stack of hay bales.
Emergency responders transported the driver to a Rapid City hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
Authorities are still investigating whether the driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The South Dakota Highway Patrol, a division of the Department of Public Safety, is leading the investigation. All details released remain preliminary as the inquiry continues.
