Forty-three FFA members from 18 chapters across South Dakota will be honored with the American FFA Degree, the highest recognition awarded by the National FFA Organization. Among the recipients are Elliot Hendrix, Ethan Hendrix, and Amara Roland from Rapid City Stevens.
The American FFA Degree celebrates students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to FFA and achieved significant milestones in their Supervised Agricultural Experiences. To qualify, members must have earned and invested at least $7,500, or alternatively, earned and invested $1,500 while completing 2,250 hours of work beyond school hours.
These students will be recognized during the 98th National FFA Convention on Saturday, November 1, at 7:30 a.m. EST. The ceremony will be broadcast on RFD-TV.
Other honorees include Dara Bauer and Shannon Gebhart of Lemmon.
The South Dakota FFA Association includes 6,536 agricultural education students across 113 chapters and is part of the National FFA Organization, which serves over one million members nationwide.
