Rapid City Central High School’s mascot, Karl the Cobbler, has won the title of America’s Best High School Mascot in a national fan-voted tournament hosted by The 64.
Karl topped a final four that included mascots from Texas, Virginia, and New York, with strong support from students, alumni, and the local community securing the win.
The victory comes during Karl’s 100th anniversary, celebrating the school’s heritage tied to Rapid City’s cobbler roots.
The annual competition highlights unique mascots nationwide.
