New figures from the Council of Economic Advisers reveal South Dakota has lost approximately $173 million in Gross State Product (GSP) since the federal government shutdown began on October 1. The state stands to lose an additional $40 million in GSP for each week the shutdown continues.
GSP reflects the total value of goods and services produced within the state over a given period.
