The City of Deadwood will proceed with the December 2 recall election of City Commissioner Blake Joseph, following a ruling Friday in Fourth Circuit Court.
Joseph had challenged the validity of petition signatures that triggered the recall, arguing they were improperly filed and insufficient. Judge Eric Strawn denied all motions, clearing the way for the election.
Candidates wishing to run in the recall must submit petitions by November 12. Joseph still has the option to appeal the court’s decision.
