The South Dakota Department of Social Services (DSS) has temporarily halted its plan to implement full Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits by November 10. This pause follows an “administrative stay” issued late Friday evening by the United States Supreme Court, which suspends a lower court’s ruling.
DSS is currently awaiting further guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) before moving forward. The Department will share additional updates as new information becomes available.
