The South Dakota Department of Social Services (DSS) will issue the remaining November SNAP benefits this week. Case processing began over the weekend, and benefits were scheduled to be loaded overnight, with availability expected by today for approximately 37,000 eligible households across the state.
Last week, DSS distributed about $8 million in partial benefits, following guidance from the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). With the federal government shutdown now resolved, DSS is releasing the remainder of the November benefits. Combined, the two disbursements will total each household’s full November SNAP allotment.
Looking ahead, December SNAP benefits are expected to be issued on time, with a scheduled release date of December 10.
Recipients can check their benefit balances via the SNAP app or online portal. DSS will continue to share updates on its website at dss.sd.gov and through its social media platforms.
