Council to Review Loaf ‘N Jug License Amid Crime, Safety Concerns

The Rapid City Council voted to hold a public hearing on the renewal of the Mount Rushmore Road Loaf ‘N Jug’s alcohol sales license due to concerns raised by police and nearby business owners about intoxicated individuals frequenting the area. The Mount Rushmore Road Group President highlighted past incidents of crime and violence associated with the gas station. Despite some councilors expressing concerns about driving troublesome customers to other businesses, a majority voted in favor of the public hearing to allow Loaf ‘N Jug’s corporate leadership to address the issues raised. Loaf ‘N Jug’s Regional Manager attended the meeting and expressed surprise at the concerns raised.
