A Rapid City man has been sentenced to over 24 years in federal prison for his involvement in a major methamphetamine distribution conspiracy that operated in Rapid City and the Pine Ridge Reservation.
Demitre Ecoffey, 31, was convicted of purchasing pound quantities of meth and distributing them in the area, engaging in high-speed chases, destroying evidence, and possessing multiple firearms.
The case was part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to dismantle cartels and reduce violent crime. The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the FBI, Rapid City Police Department, and the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team.
