Sturgis police officers helped bring a woman to safety and arrested a man after he allegedly fired a gun and made threats during a mental health crisis.
Officers responded to a home Saturday following reports that a man had discharged a firearm inside and threatened his wife, whom he believed was having an affair. Authorities said the man appeared to be experiencing a mental health crisis and showing signs of hallucinations.
Police escorted the woman out of the home unharmed and later obtained a warrant. The man was taken into custody and is now undergoing a mental health evaluation.
