Rapid City police responded to a crash at approximately 8:50 p.m Monday evening on Skyline Drive near Quincy Drive. Officers found a black Ford SUV in a ditch after it struck several trees, stopping the vehicle from sliding further down a steep embankment.
The driver, identified as 28-year-old Sheyanne Farmer of Rapid City, showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech and the odor of alcohol. A DUI investigation confirmed she was too impaired to operate the vehicle safely.
Farmer, who is currently on parole, was arrested and charged with DUI (second offense), Open Container in a Motor Vehicle, No Proof of Insurance, and a Parole Hold. She was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
