Daniel Koble, 50, has been sentenced to 25 years in the South Dakota State Penitentiary for third-degree rape following repeated sexual assaults between 2020 and 2023. He pled guilty in August 2025.
Assistant Chief Deputy State’s Attorney Jason Thomas argued for the maximum penalty, citing Koble’s sustained pattern of abuse and danger to the community. The victim delivered a powerful impact statement describing lasting trauma and reclaiming her voice.
Seventh Circuit Judge Jeffrey Connolly denied the defense’s request for probation, imposing the statutory maximum sentence with three years suspended. Koble will remain under parole supervision upon release.
