Two pedestrians were hospitalized Saturday night after being struck by a pickup at the intersection of Saint Joseph Street and 5th Street.
Police were called to the scene around 8:45 p.m. on December 20. When officers arrived, they located the involved parties and learned the pedestrians had been hit while crossing in the marked crosswalk. Both victims sustained serious but non‑life‑threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Investigators determined the pickup had been traveling east on Saint Joseph Street and was attempting to turn north onto 5th Street when it struck the pedestrians.
Police also determined the driver—identified as a juvenile—was impaired by marijuana. The teen was taken into custody and processed through the juvenile justice system.
The investigation remains ongoing.
