In the Fall 2025 cycle of the Deadwood Fund Grant program, the South Dakota State Historical Society has awarded matching grants to five historic preservation projects across the state. The program supports the rehabilitation and restoration of historic properties statewide. The awarded projects include:
- Keystone School (built 1897–1900) will receive $15,000 for window reglazing and exterior repainting.
- Hot Springs City Hall (built 1893) was awarded $15,000 for erosion treatment, tuckpointing, and masonry repairs to protect structural stability.
Other projects include the Doland Opera House, Roslyn Auditorium, and The Campbell House in Brookings.
For the past 29 years, The Deadwood Fund awards grants annually, with application deadlines on February 1 and October 1. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $25,000 and require matching funds.
