Former news anchor Shad Olson is now the subject of an arrest warrant after prosecutors say he failed to comply with the terms of his sentence stemming from simple assault and domestic violence charges to which he pleaded no contest last June.
According to a motion filed by Meade County Deputy State’s Attorney Tanner Jackson, Olson did not pay required court fees, complete an alcohol evaluation, or provide proof that he finished court‑ordered anger management classes. In response, 4th Circuit Magistrate Judge Chad Callahan authorized a warrant directing any law enforcement agency in South Dakota to take Olson into custody and bring him before Meade County Magistrate Court.
Records indicate the warrant has not yet been served. Judge Callahan set a $500 bond to encourage Olson’s appearance.
