Rapid City’s Public Works Department is correcting an error in a recent mailer sent to utility customers about the upcoming end of the “Sure Pay” automatic payment program.
The mailer listed the wrong phone number for customers seeking information. Residents with questions are asked to call the City’s Call Center at 605‑791‑5577.
The Sure Pay program will be discontinued March 1 as part of a major upgrade to the city’s payment system. Rapid City recently launched a new online payment portal that allows customers to pay by credit or debit card, eCheck, or through an Interactive Voice Response system. A new auto‑pay option will be introduced after Sure Pay is phased out.
The updated portal also offers electronic billing notifications and a more user‑friendly interface.
