A former Rapid City gymnastics coach has agreed to plead guilty in a federal child pornography case, according to newly filed court documents.
Hayden Sengua,(sen-gwah) who was initially charged with three counts of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession, has reached a plea deal with prosecutors. Under the agreement, he will plead guilty to a single count of receipt of child pornography during a hearing scheduled for January 21.
In a factual basis statement submitted to the court, Sengua admitted to receiving more than 15,000 media files depicting child sexual abuse. The material included images and videos involving infants and toddlers, as well as depictions of minors being bound or tortured.
By pleading guilty to the single count, Sengua faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison and up to 20 years behind bars.
