A 24‑year‑old Eagle Butte man has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for abusive sexual contact with a minor, U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons announced. He is also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Colton Condon was indicted in March 2025 and pleaded guilty on Oct. 1, 2025. The offense occurred between October 1 and November 14, 2023, on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation, where Condon—then 21—engaged in sexual contact with a 14‑year‑old girl.
The case was prosecuted in federal court under the Major Crimes Act, which places certain violent crimes in Indian Country under federal jurisdiction. It was also part of Project Safe Childhood, a national DOJ initiative focused on combating child sexual exploitation and supporting victims.
